Mothers Are Blessed!

motghers day.jpgWe pause in the midst of our Easter joy to honor and remember our mothers. The gift of motherhood is cause for thanksgiving and God sharing his love through. When we think of mothers we recall the phenomenal woman who either gave us birth or shared with us great motherly love.

Whether natural birth or the role of a mother this love shown has its origin in the Love of God ultimately to lead into life eternal. When a mother truly and wholeheartedly embraces her role as mother the love and life force that she shares is united to God’s design for each human person. To ultimate know and share in His love, she with her husband are the firsts to impart knowledge of the God who is love.

Jesus reminds us today that those who follow him, that belong to him he offers life eternal.
My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.

Since ultimate our lives which we receive from our mothers has as its direction and purpose union with Christ. It is this love and sacrifice of our mothers that leads us and opens us to love. It is the nature of mothers to give, promote and sustain life

We have our mothers to thank today for their love and unwavering faith that rooted in their love of God in Jesus Christ they lead their children to love and life.

In honoring mothers let us remember that without their openness to life and love we would not be who and where we are today. We are called to be women and men love and faith that transforms a suffering world through the power of love.

This power for the Christian is rooted in God’s love for us. His ultimate sacrifice and mothers unite their love and sacrifice to that of the God who called them to motherhood sharing in the divine gift of life and sharing as co creators through love and sacrifice.
