Transformed by the Holy Ghost.

prayer  Pentecost Sunday    Celebrate the Power of the Holy Ghost over your Life.

As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, our hearts and minds are raised to very Power of God.  The Power that brought forth all of creation, the power that breathed into the nostrils of the first Man and Women.  The Power that brought dead bones to life in the Valley of the Dry Bones, the Power that overshadowed Mary and brought forth the Son of the Living God.   The very Power of the Spirit that Rose Jesus from the Dead is given to the Church.   We are called to live in the Power of the Holy Ghost.  What kind of power is this?  This Power is God Himself.  For the Holy Ghost is the third Person of the Blessed and Most Holy Trinity.  In the Holy Ghost we see ability over all that seeks to overcome us, when we look upon life, past hurts and abuse, to current challenges to our very questions about what the future holds.  The Power of the Holy Ghost is able to strengthen us to lead us through all that we face and encounter.   All that life would seemingly toss at us would be the Holy Ghost’s place to build us up and give us the power and grace to transform it all for God’s glory.

Paul tells the Galatian Community “Brothers and sisters, live by the Spirit.”   The first words of the scripture immediately show us that there is a way that is not of the Spirit in which others live.   I life of selfishness, abuse, misuse, that tears down and seeks to destroy lives.  Where lives are seen as objects for self-gratification and pleasure rather than love.  Paul says these things destroy the very purpose for which God created us.  Galatians 5 tells us what happens when we actually live in the power of the Holy Ghost, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control

Holy Ghost, power moves your life to focus on the Love and well being of others, not just your own pleasure and what you seek and hope for.  When we are faced with the storms of life, the difficulties, as though we are being swept away call on the Holy Ghost to give you power over your life.
